The “Weight Shift Fake” is the most fundamental stickhandling fake. This is because it fakes one of the most fundamental stickhandling skills known as the “Pull.” While executing the “Pull,” you must shift your weight from one leg to the other.  The “Weight Shift Fake” fakes this move by performing one weight shift followed by another in order to get back to the original side you started from. When practicing this move, it is important that you set it up exactly the same as the “Pull” so it is believable. Your “Weight Shift Fake” will be more effective if it is done very quickly and with just as much explosiveness and weight shift as the “Pull” itself.
