For the “Off Leg Shot,” the puck is released off of what is traditionally your back leg (Righty- Right Leg, Lefty- Left Leg). Because there is not as much body weight shifting contributing to power in the “Off Leg Shot,” it is important to really focus on the torque or “snap” mechanics of the stick. You can also get more power out of leaning the body weight onto the stick as much as possible. Another very important thing to remember is that the top hand must be away so that it can pull the top of the stick towards the body, creating torque and flex as the bottom hand pushes forwards.
