The “Hook Pass” is an important skill when you are looking to get around a defender’s stick who is blocking your passing lane, or when you need to change your passing lane for any reason! On a hook pass you push the puck further away from your body to create the new passing lane, before closing your blade and completing the pass from that new lane. Hook passes can be difficult as you are often reaching far away from your body, so it is important to practice this skill a lot to create strength and control in these positions.
