“Crossovers Rolling” is one of the fundamental techniques used to protect the puck while going around a defender. We use the term “Rolling” to distinguish it from stickhandling, but often it is simply carrying the puck out wide in a puck protection position. Players often find themselves wanting to bring the puck in front of the feet, however, in order to protect it around defenders, it is very often required that you handle the puck out to the side of your body. If you want to be sure not to lose it when you come into this situation, make sure you spend plenty of time mastering this skill.
