The “Forehand Side Stride” technique, is a variation of the “Two Hands” technique. The real benefit of this technique is that if a defender is backchecking you from the backhand side, it allows you to protect the puck, while still maintaining full stride. While practicing this technique, be sure to pull the puck wide from top to bottom, which will allow your stride to stay long as well, as the two things are coordinated together. Another thing to focus on, is not allowing your head to be down and watching the puck sideways and behind, which is very common and can be dangerous. This would leave you vulnerable to not see other defenders who are coming at you from the front.
