The “Quick Dribble” is an important stickhandling skill, because it is the fastest way to stickhandle. The “Quick Dribble” is often combined with different skills, such as “Pulls” or “Weight Shift Fakes,” to eliminate a defender or a pull back for a “Load and Shift” shot. When practicing your quick dribbles, be sure to stickhandle the puck on your heel, as this allows you to go faster as you twist and rotate your top wrist. It is also important to focus on not over-gripping with your bottom hand, but instead, having your bottom hand simply helping out where needed. This allows you to be ready to take over when you need to shoot, pass, or make a “Pull” or “Toe Drag” out of the “Quick Dribbles.”
